This past week on the 23rd February marks the 112th anniversary of the founding of Rotary. For that past 5 years our club has been celebrating the occasion by visiting the Gold Coast Hospital and providing birthday gifts to the mothers of babies that were born on the 23rd February. The gifts contained a variety of useful items for new born babies.

PDG Brian Heaton and Val did a fantastic job buying and packaging the gifts for the new mums. Brian originated the idea for celebrating the Rotary birthday by providing gifts for the new little Aussies, an idea which has now been taken up by other clubs.

Tony Jensen the new manager of the Bendigo Bank, Paradise Point Branch also participated in our event at the Gold Coast Hospital. The Bendigo provided a number of gifts for the new arrivals and their mums including $50 in a start-up account at the bank for each child, and a piggy bank!

The new mums also deserve a big thank you for letting us share their special day!
